Master Bedroom

So... I don't have complete after;s but lots of durings. Layla came home from my Mom's early yesterday and then we were busy busy busy! But here's what I have!

This was Friday night after we bought the paint. I thought it wasn't dark enough...
Gosh, the before wall color was awful! I am so glad it's gone!

Instead of a window we have a door out to our back deck.

Ben cutting in the ceiling, I hate that part!

One wall done!

I love it! I'm glad Ben convinced me that it was dark enough because it really is! I think this picture shows the color the truest.

A dresser that I have had forever! I think I got this my junior year in high school, a few coats of white spray paint and it's perfect!

Embrace the Camera

It's really hard to take a picture with a 2 year old. She is way too busy to sit down even for just a second!

Gray & Orange

I am in love with the color gray lately! There are so many shades and it is just perfect! I was thinking about painting Layla's room this weekend but I have plans for 3 different colors in there and with all the other things we have going on I don't think I can get that done in a day. So even though Ben doesn't want to paint anything else for the rest of his life, we are going to paint the master bedroom Saturday.

I know I want the walls a dark gray and I want orange accents! I've never been crazy about orange but it is Ben's favorite color and the below pictures have sold me on the gray and orange combo!

Menu Monday & Weekend Re Cap

Another week! Not too much going on this week, but this weekend my Mom is taking Layla and we have two birthday parties to go to Saturday. Yes two! I'm also throwing around the idea of painting Layla's room Saturday during the day....

Anyways here's our dinner plans for the week:

Monday: Baked Chicken, Angel Hair Pasta with tomatoes and mozzarella and some green veggie.

Tuesday: Turkey Sandwiches & Soup

Wednesday: BBQ'd London broil, Rice and some Veggie

Thursday: Something in the Crock Pot....

Friday: Out, taking Layla to my Mom's so something easy!

Weekend Re Cap:

Saturday: Layla and I went shopping with my Mom. It was nice to spend the day with the Girls! Ben had an overnight bachelor party to go to Saturday afternoon so my Mom spent the night with us. We met my brother Eddie and his girlfriend Audrey for Thai food. What a disaster that was, Layla and I spent most of the time in the car because she was not having it!

Sunday: Lazy day! It was so nice! Layla slept till almost 9am, we said goodbye to my Mom and I made pancakes. Ben got home around 11am and I took a little nap, did some laundry, Layla took a nap, and watched some football (dang Seahawks). When Layla woke up we went out for pizza and then to Wal mart. We bought a little 22 inch flat screen TV for our bedroom. Our room is not very big so having a large TV and stand it there was taking up valuable space. When we got home we moved the big TV and stand down to Layla's playroom and let her watch Barney... She picked it out. We got our TV hung up and folded laundry and relaxed!

Tonight I am excited about mine and Ben's favorite TV show premiering! How I met your Mother! Hope you have a great Monday!

Almost the Weekend!

Not much to post about today. I painted this little table last night. This was in my daughter’s room and we used it to set her humidifier on. I bought it at Goodwill for oh I don’t remember under $5.00 maybe $2.99?

Here’s my half before, I’m really bad at remembering befores.
(Notice the other projects I'm working on? Two dressers)

And here’s the after, I painted it Oil Rubbed Bronze 1 because I had a full can of it and 2 because I like the gold flecks in it.

(This was taken when it was still a little wet)

I think I am going to use this as a small entry way table until I found something I like better. Oh forgot pictures of it in its new home. I’ll add those later. I put a candle on it and a small picture of Layla at about 8 months old and a small vase of flowers.

Have a great weekend!

Sick Layla Bean

Sorry I have been MIA lately, I have been dealing with a sick kiddo which has now turned into a sick Mommy and Daddy too. Layla has asthma (which lovely me passed down to her) and pretty much any cold or sickness she gets quickly moves to her lungs. After two years of this and my having asthma all my life I know what we need to do. Start nebulizer treatments every 2-4 hours and watch her. If it gets worse we head to the doctor’s and it’s always a round of steroids for a week and she’s good. Normally after the 1st dose of steroids kicks in you can tell a difference. Sunday night was hell, treatments every 2 hours and lots of should we head to the ER? We made it through and Monday morning we headed to the doctor’s. After a quick check out and a treatment we were sent to the ER. And after 6 hours and surprise surprise steroids for a weekend and treatments we were sent home. It makes you feel so helpless, I know what you’re going to give her, and we are extremely capable of getting up whenever we need too throughout the night to give her treatments, medicine whatever! I understand they are trying to help her, but it’s always the same thing. We did this oh about 5 times last year. We also almost always see the same doctor, can’t she remember us? Or at least take better notes as to what happens every time she gets sick?

Anyways Layla is doing great now and we had a great time camping!

Trent Taylor, Tent Trailer...

We are heading camping this weekend in this beautiful beast!

We purchased this lovely about a month ago for $400.00! He's a 74 Starcraft Starmaster 6! It's in surprisingly really good shape, very 70's but still nice. This will be our first weekend taking him out and probably the last for the year. BUT next spring expect a lot of DYI projects for this little guy! I'm thinking painting cabinets, new upholstery, something with the table, curtains.... The list could go on and on!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Oh Tuesday, you came so fast. Back to grind. Here’s the recap of our weekend. I don’t know how we ended up so busy…

Friday: I took the day off work but Layla still went to daycare for most of the day. My mom came into town (she lives about 30 minute’s away out in the sticks) and we went shopping!!! I got an amazing start on my Christmas shopping. Our first stop was Goodwill where I found a small coach purse for a $1.99! (I gave it to Layla) and a doll backpack that folds out to an activity mat, again for Layla for .99 cents. I also found a pedestal table for $5.99 it was little and would have made a prefect entryway table. (Which I have been on the hunt for) For some insane reason I didn’t buy it… I went back Saturday to get it and of course it was gone. I am still kicking myself. Our second stop was the Macy’s clearance center. Do you have one of these? Oh they are awesome! Our downtown Macy’s is the only one that has it; it’s up on the 6th floor. I got two big bags of things (mostly Christmas presents so I can’t name them) for $75.00. Next we went to Thai food for lunch and a bunch of other places not really worth mentioning.

Saturday: Hum… what did we do today? Not much we got a great start at cleaning out the garage, winter is coming soon to the Inland Northwest and I refuse to scrape ice and snow off my car in the mornings. Then we went into Sears! And got a new dishwasher and Fridge! So excited about that! I’ll post pictures tomorrow when they are delivered.

Sunday: We had a BBQ for two of our closest friend’s birthdays! Joey’s birthday was the 6th and Jen’s was the 4th. The day started out with Layla and I rushing into town to take Elmer to the groomer, stopping by K Mart and finding 2 more Christmas presents for $4.99 each! Score! And a few clearance clothes for Layla. Cleaning house like a mad lady and everyone showing up at 2pm. It was a great get together! It sprinkled on us a little and the wind picked up but nothing like what was predicted.

Monday: Most of Monday was spent cleaning the house again and doing laundry. Then we went to the mall but only went to JC Penney’s. I got Layla two fall shirts, Ben two pairs of jeans and a shirt and me a new bra. Necessities people.

All in all it was a great weekend! Already looking forward to my next 3 day weekend which I hope to turn into a 4 day weekend! Hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend too!

Guest Room Table

When we moved into our new house I was so excited to have a guest room... But it is tiny. Like really tiny. So tiny Ben didn't think we were going to be able to fit a full size bed in there. But it did and it is small but our guest's aren't here to spend time in their room they are here to see Layla!

One of my bestie's Jen gave me this table, it was left in her house when she bought it. I kept it dark brown for years and it moved from room to room. It's an older hexagon table, I'm sure you've seen them on your craigslist's I think it might be plastic. Anyways once again no before's, but here's the after in glossy black spray paint!

I also spray painted that cute little $3.00 thrift store lamp. I love yellow right now!

Bahama Sea

I bought these two candle holders at Bed Bath & Beyond. They were being discontinued so they were on sale for $9.99 for the pair plus I had a 20% off coupon. Sorry I don't have a before picture they were brass/blackish looking.

A quick two coats of Krylon Bahama Sea spray paint and they are beautiful!
