Baby Update #8

Hopefully my last baby update!!!! But first, months ago like December or so I won two tickets to Yo Gabba Gabba Live! We literally forgot about it until waking up Wednesday morning. The thought of going to this 9 months pregnant made me want to cry, so Daddy took over! He and Layla had a great Daddy/Daughter date!

She did not get her Sillies out! She did whoever laugh the whole 40 minute ride home and attacked me with giggles and silly songs when she got home! They had a great time!

And to the Jack update:

How far along? 40 weeks tomorrow! 4-0!

Maternity clothes? All the time. I still wear most of my normal shirts with a maternity tank underneath.-Still the same
Stretch marks? I've noticed a few... I'm not too concerned about them like I was with Layla. They fade. -Same

Sleep: Everything hurts. Sleeping is difficult. Blah Blah.
Best moment this week: As always it will be hearing his heartbeat at our appt today. Hopefully Doc Brown will give me some good news that something is happening down there! Also, telling work that Tuesday will be my last day.

Miss Anything? Not really.

Movement: Lots, all the time.

Food cravings: Sweets...
Anything making you queasy or sick: Taking my heartburn meds without food. Other then that nothing.

Gender: All boy!

Labor Signs: Zero. Last Friday I was 1.5 cm dilated and 80% effaced and he was very low. I don't know what today will bring. Hopefully a baby!
Belly Button in or out? Out.

Still Pregnant!

Still rockin’ this very large baby bump! This boy is in there for the long haul. My due date is Saturday and I know it will come and go with no little boy to show for it. I'm actually kind of ok with it. Kind of... I'm uncomfortable and all but knowing this is my last pregnancy I feel like I can hold out a little longer. I'm going to miss his kicks.

Other things that have been going on in our life? I'm a straight up addicted to Candy Crush. This F-ing game! Currently stuck on level 33... Days.

A little picutre mash up of latey:

1) Jack's pack n play all set up and ready to go in our room. Just waiting..

2) Layla and I spent time with my favorite (& only) nephew a few Monday's ago. She is so sweet and gentle with him! Even letting him play with her beloved Kia.

3) Layla and I got mani/pedi's! I think I might have got it done a little early since I have 1 toe that is messed up. I really wanted pretty feet for labor. That's really important.

4) Ben and Layla wrestling... I think she's winning.

5) A sweet little Crabby blanket that Ben HAD to get for Jack.

6) I'm not getting a new swing for Jack. Sorry, kid. So I am trying to make Layla's very pink swing manlier for him. I was going to just buy a mobile for it to replace the hanging butterflies but $30+ for something I could make for less then $5. No way! I made this elephant one in about 20 minutes.

7) Before Valentine's day I told Ben, "Let's get Layla a Princess CD!" Omg why did I think this was a good idea?! These songs haunt my dreams.

8) Italian Soda and Sunshine!!!! I forgot how good these things are!!!

Weekend Update

Just a day late, no big deal!

I am flipping exhausted lately! Both Friday and Saturday night I was in bed and passed out by 9pm. Yeah, I'm super cool.

Saturday morning we got up and out of the house early to go pick up our Co Op Veggies. Do you do anything like this? This is only the second time we've done it, the last time was in August and I feel like we got more for our money then. But it is Winter in the Northwest so I can guess that fruits and veggies are hard to come by. Anyways, I found this website Bountiful Baskets through my friend Jen. They do these all over the country so if your looking for something like this, check our the website. A little info about it:

BBFC is a group of people who work together for mutual benefit. This is a grassroots, all volunteer, no contracts, no catch co-operative. Since there are no employees at Bountiful Baskets, we as a group pay rock bottom prices on your food. This also means the co-op would not happen without volunteers. Each week different items will be in the Bountiful Basket! We base the basket contents on what is in season, high quality, good value, and local. 50% Fruit, 50% Vegetables & 100% healthy & delicious!
This is what was in our "basket" this week! I need to figure out something to do with those monster yams.

After picking up our Veggies we were already in town so we went to breakfast and shopping. Perfect Saturday!

Sunday was nice and easy. We set up Jack's Pack n Play, cleaned house and just hung out together. Before the Super Bowl started I went down to my Brother's house for a little bit, but was home in time to watch the half time show. Which I thought Bey rocked!
Random pictures from the rest of our weekend. I'm trying to turn our VERY Pink swing into something Jack won't be embarrassed to swing in. Cause you know newborns care about that kind of thing. Layla growling at me, she was a Dino. Next row, our early morning trip to our Fav Coffee Stand Sunday morning. I had a craving for some of my Great Grandma's biscuits! Oh they were good! And Jack's pack n play!

Now it's another work week, blah. But as of today I only have 17 more work days until my due date! Hell yeah!

Baby Update #7

How far along? 36 weeks tomorrow! Full term! What the heck?!

Maternity clothes? All the time. I still wear most of my normal shirts with a maternity tank underneath.-Still the same

Stretch marks? I've noticed a few... I'm not too concerned about them like I was with Layla. They fade. -Same

Sleep: Oh my aching hips!!!! Sleep still sucks. It's so annoying to have to fully wake up to roll over.

Best moment this week: Hearing his heartbeat at our WEEKLY appt yesterday! Also, getting the last few things we need for him.

Miss Anything? BEER! I'm not a huge beer drinking normally but man it sounds so good!

Movement: Lots, all the time.

Food cravings: Sweets... Candy bars.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Taking my heartburn meds without food. Other then that nothing.

Gender: All boy!

Labor Signs: Zero. I actually got checked for the first time yesterday, I was going to decline but didn't. Nothings going on down there.

Belly Button in or out? Out.

It's crazy to think how close we are to holding him.

Random Happiness!

To counteract yesterday’s post.

Layla! Of course she’s first! She is awesome and funny and amazing! She has recently become obsessed with Tangled and is pretty much convinced that she is Rapunzel. We have to call her that 99% of the time. I’m not sure if I ever shared this pic, but this is her in a X mas gift. Every day we get home and she has to put on that purple dress.

Ben. He’s pretty awesome too! He’s really sweet about all my pregnancy woes and takes really good care of me. I can’t wait to see him holding Jack for the first time. Is that not the best?! I thought I really loved him before Layla but the first time I saw him hold her love tripled.

Daily Deal Websites. Man these things rock! I have too many that get emailed to me daily and honestly I rarely buy from them (except for Pick your Plum!) but they are so fun to look at every day!

Work Friends. They make the day so much better! I am so lucky to have close friends from every job I’ve ever had. It was great to see so many of them at my baby shower this weekend.

My Step Mom Brenda. She’s fab! Even though she lives 3000 miles away she always knows how to make me feel special. Her texts every morning to tell me she loves me make my day!

My Whip (I’m so gangsta now!) My car is always dirty, has a few dings (thanks Ikea shopping cart), gets abused on the regular but always gets us where we need to go. It’s only front wheel drive but it does amazing in our nuts Washington weather and gets close to 32 mpg. Naughty Cal, you are an awesome vehicle!

Rapid fire: Starbucks, even being spendy I love you. Jack Johnson & Ben Harper, you to get me. Blogging again. Elmer, that dog loves me so much! I’m lucky to have him. Pinterest. Being so close to holding Jack. Up front parking spots. Organizing. Throwing stuff away. Baby blankets. Uneven numbers, lol random. Bounce dryer sheets. The smell of lilac. Layla’s laugh. Open mouth baby kisses from my nephew. Instagram. Hump day!

Random Annoyances

I still have quite a bit of pregnancy rage.

Loudly singing co workers… It’s not cool to sing loud, off key, thinkin you sound good in an office. I really want to choke you. No, not really but I would like to say shut up.

Temp Co Irker. You are just a temp employee. I know you really like it here, but we just don’t have the work for you to stay when (if) I come back. Trying to throw me under the bus any chance you get is not going to help you get a real job here.

Return Policies. I hate these things. If I have a receipt or a gift receipt I should get cash back. Unless it was bought with a credit card, ok that one can slide by.

Target’s Website: What the hell is wrong with this thing?! It keeps refreshing for no reason… The only way I’ve found to fix it is to delete my cookies. I don’t want to do that, then I have to remember sign on’s and passwords.

My Mom. Oh my gosh, this lady! Without going into too much detail, she is losing it and making my life hell. We are normally so close but lately I just cannot handle her. Do you ever have someone in your life that no matter who did the wrong, you still have to be the one to apologize? & again it will have to be me, cause in about 4 weeks I need someone to watch Layla so I can have a baby.

Ok back to more light hearted stuff, chipped nail polish. Starbucks being so expensive and being the only coffee place close to my work. People who leave their blinkers on. People who stand too close to you in a line. Laundry. Stess. Tuesday’s, this could be the hardest day of the week.

Tomorrow I’ll counteract this with things that make me happy!

Happy Tuesday!

Weekend!!!

Some of the decorations I made for my Baby Shower...

And yes, it's true we finally have a name! We've actually had it for about 5 weeks or so...

JACK EDWARD!

Yeah his initials will be J.E.M. But he will be Truly Outrageous! So it's ok! This was the hardest decisions I have ever had. It finally came down to it being the only name we could agree on. But after using it for weeks it really feels right.

I like how Jack’s are almost always the good guys in movies and books. We are also pretty big Lost fans. Edward is after my big brother, Edward James (although he goes by Eddie). It just feels like a strong normal name.

The baby shower went off great! A lot of friends and loved ones. Really good food and cake!

The rest of my weekend was pretty chill. We had breakfast out, did a little shopping and finalized the last few things we needed for Jack to make his arrival. I now can have him and he has somewhere to sleep!

More pic's from the weekend:
I finally got a baby book for Jack. I don't care for Peter Rabbit, but this was the only one I could find that wasn't covered in pink and purple.

Ben & Layla at breakfast. I had to make the picture fuzzy cause the guy with the arrow above his head was so creepy looking! Kind of like death...

My nails, I did for the shower.

& baby Boy's name on the chalkboard wall.

Have a great week!!!

Baby Update #6

Here's a baby update!

How far along? 35 weeks tomorrow! Wow! A week away from “full term” & starting month 9!

Maternity clothes? All the time. I still wear most of my normal shirts with a maternity tank underneath.

Stretch marks? I've noticed a few... I'm not too concerned about them like I was with Layla. They fade. -Same

Sleep: Oh my aching hips!!!! Sleep sucks. Also with Layla having asthma trouble this week I’ve been up a lot.

Best moment this week: He is so busy! I love feeling him roll around and it’s so fun to watch Layla get excited when she feels him or sees him move. He kicked her in the ear a few weeks ago when she had her head on my tummy.

Miss Anything? Not having to pee every time I stand up or move.

Movement: Lots, all the time.

Food cravings: Everything.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Taking my heartburn meds without food. Other then that nothing.

Gender: All boy!

Labor Signs: Zero

Belly Button in or out? Out… It didn’t pop with Layla was it sure has with Baby boy!

Today I have a Baby appt at 2:00pm. I’m excited to hear his heart beat! It’s getting so close! Tomorrow is my baby shower! It’s at my house (only place all my bishes would fit) but I only know the theme I don’t know anything else that has been planned… It’s kind of driving me crazy, I am too much of a control freak for this!

This was yesterday... Holy Huge!

It's been forever...

Random Post!

I'm cooking a baby, chasing a 4 year old, working and trying to keep up a house. I really do not want to come back to work after I have Baby Brother and I think we can swing it but I need something. I know I won't be able to be home 24-7 so I'm currently looking for something part time...

Layla, My Mom and I went to Seattle this last weekend. It was interesting... I'm about 2 weeks from starting month 9 and it was difficult doing everything by myself. To top it off she had trouble with her asthma and wasn't feeling too hot. We did manage to make it thru the Seattle Aquarium before she got too bad.

This Saturday is my Baby Shower! I know a lot of people do not have showers for second babies, but I assure this is not the norm around here. We do showers for 4th or 5th babies, it doesn't matter. This is my sweet invite! I love chevron! It's very "me"
Other then that I haven’t been up to much. We are working on getting the house de-cluttered and going thru Layla’s baby stuff. I haven’t started a nursery or really gotten anything for Baby Boy besides a few outfits. I’m slacking. It will all come together though! Fingers crossed he doesn’t come early!

Baby Update #5

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!!! I'll post about ours next week.

Here's a baby update!

How far along? 31 weeks tomorrow! Um what?! We have nothing ready for this kid, he's got some cute outfits but that's about it. With Layla her room was set up and ready to go around 6 months.

Maternity clothes? All, all the time. I still wear most of my normal shirts with a maternity tank underneath.

Stretch marks? I've noticed a few... I'm not too concerned about them like I was with Layla. They fade. -Same

Sleep: Oh my aching hips!!!! Sleep sucks.

Best moment this week: Hearing his heartbeat at our monthly check on Wednesday, watching him kick at the doppler speaker the nurse laid on my tummy. Layla. She is so sweet! She is always talking to him and kissing him. It's awesome. She is going to be the best big sister.

Miss Anything? Not having to pee every time I stand up or move.

Movement: Lots, all the time.

Food cravings: Everything.

Anything making you queasy or sick: The kitchen first thing in the morning.

Gender: All boy!

Labor Signs: Zero

Belly Button in or out? It's pretty much out.

Wendesday was our last monthly appt, they now go to every two weeks. It's getting real!

Christmas Card Link Up!

(Yes, I am days late to this... No excuse.)

Here's the card! I made these at Vista Print, they are awesome! Less then $15 for 35 cards including shipping.

I also write a little letter every year to let far away family know what's going on with us. Here's this years:

We hope everyone had a wonderful year! Our family had a fantastic 2012, and we have exciting news to share... We’re expecting another baby! We first learned in late June that Layla would be a big sister, and it was a long wait until September when we were told we are going to have a little boy! He is due in early March, and we couldn't be happier about the new addition to our family.

Layla continues to grow so much every single day. We celebrated her 4th birthday this summer, and she started Pre-K in the Fall. She is over-the-moon excited to be a big sister, and we can’t wait to see her interact with her baby brother. She's very gentle and loves talking to the baby; she's even gone so far as to express her willingness to share all of her things with him once he arrives, except for her Daddy that is!

Ben has now been with Graybar Electric for 8 years, and he recently accepted a promotion within the company. He's really been enjoying the new challenge. I celebrated 5 years with Sterling Bank this year, and continue to enjoy working for such a great organization.

On the home front, we continue to make small improvements to our house, and are excited to start working on the nursery. The fall and winter months are great for cozying up at home with our little family, and friends. We hope you get to share the holiday season with your loved ones, as well!

Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!

Baby Update #4

How far along? 27 wks tomorrow. Entering month 7 & the 3rd trimester! WOW!
Maternity clothes? All, all the time. I am on a hunt for maternity skinny jeans. I can't seem to find my size anywhere.

Stretch marks? I've noticed a few... I'm not too concerned about them like I was with Layla. They fade. -Same

Sleep: It's alright. I wake up a lot to move positions and pee, but it's not horrible.

Best moment this week: It will be hearing his heartbeat at our monthly check up today! Also finding a bra that I'm not spilling out of! The biggest cup size I have ever bought...

Miss Anything? My back not hurting & holiday drinks.

Movement: Lots, all the time.

Food cravings: It has been Pumpkin Pie, thank goodness we've now eaten it all!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still this one: The bathroom air fresher at my work. It’s Febreze Spring something. Holy S it’s awful! & people use way to much of it! I think I am going to start using the boys bathroom at work. Or throw that spray away! & sometimes the kitchen first thing in the morning.

Gender: All boy!

Labor Signs: Zero

Belly Button in or out? It's on it's way out...

This was the week of Thanksgiving. I'm getting monstrous.

Have a great weekend!

Thankfulness

I am so excited tomorrow is Thanksgiving! One of my favorite holidays! I am cooking and hosting, even though I tried to give it away this year. Cleaning, cooking, and cleaning again at almost 7 months pregnant sounded like hell. And it still kind of does, but I have the added bonus of everyone coming to me, Layla’s in her comfort zone and I really do like entertaining.

Yesterday I volunteered to sign in low income families to receive a free Thanksgiving dinner, Tom’s Turkey Drive. What an eye opener... I had no idea of the poverty in my county. It was surprising and so humbling. Everyone was so nice and polite even after standing in line forever in the rain! I helped from 11:30am-4pm and probably signed in close to a 100 people. And that was just me! When I left for the day they had given out close to 4,000 dinners and were expecting another rush after 5pm. It was a great cause and I am so happy to be part of it.

I try to always be thankful for what I have but yesterday made me realize I have a lot more then I thought. So thankful to have a warm and loving home to raise my daughter and son in.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

Weekend!

Woop Hello Friday!!! This week has flown by and I couldn't be happier about it! Tomorrow I have an morning date with my Ladies for some of this:

I can't wait! My Bestie Jen and I have gone to everyone together! It's kind of sad it's ending. I mentioned it before but Jen is pregnant too, due 4/6 and today at 10am she finds out what she's having!! Yesterday I texted her this:

Me: TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY!!! What time is it again?

Jen: What? I thought we were going Saturday and you said 9:30am...

Me: Not Twilight Jennifer!!!!! Your BIG ultrasound!!!
Yeah were kind of excited about it! I love that she thought Twilight was the "big day" I was talking about.

After the movie I have another date with my favorite girl! Layla and I are headed to this:

I might be more excited then she is... She's going to go dressed as Tinkerbelle, even though she's technically not a princess. She's going to love it though! If you follow me on Instagram (@kristakins_) be ready for a ton of pictures!

Have a great weekend!!!

Extra Snowy Day Off!

Yesterday we observed Veteran’s Day, so I got an extra day off with my Kiddo. And we woke up to about 2 inches of fresh snow! We had a blast playing in it! An epic snow ball fight, a snowy walk around the neighborhood and a funny looking snowman.
All bundled up and ready to go out! This picture made me realize it’s time to change the chalkboard wall.
1) Our silly snowman! He didn’t last very long… As soon as I let the dog out he ran out there grabbed the stick nose and knocked the whole guy over.

2) Layla making a snow angel!

3) 3) Elmer getting ready to catch a snowball!

4) On our snowy walk

5) At lunch, we had a Mommy/Layla date at Old McDonalds (as Layla calls it). She was making a kissy face for me to text to Ben.

6) And last night playing the “Guess how much I love you” game. Guess how much I love you Layla! I love you more than all the snow! Then she goes and it’s normally something really silly like she loves me more than her toes! Last night it was cookies!

Perfect extra day off with my kid!

Baby Update #3

It's been awhile since I've updated on the Baby Boy. Yes, he's still nameless... We've been testing out Jack but it doens't feel like the one for me.

How far along? 23 wks tomorrow.

Maternity clothes? Pants all the time... And I need some new shirts.

Stretch marks? I've noticed a few... I'm not too concerned about them like I was with Layla. They fade.

Sleep: Meh, it's ok. I wish I could just fall asleep and not wake up until morning. When I do wake up I have lots of ridiculous thoughts that won't let me go back to sleep.

Best moment this week: Hearing his heartbeat that the doc's on Wednesday.

Miss Anything? My back not hurting. :)

Movement: Lots, all the time.

Food cravings: Butterfingers. Why did I buy a bag of these?!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Still this one: The bathroom air fresher at my work. It’s Febreze Spring something. Holy S it’s awful! & people use way to much of it! I think I am going to start using the boys bathroom at work. Or throw that spray away!

Gender: All boy!

Labor Signs: Zero

Belly Button in or out? In...

My birthday is Tuesday! Woo, I don't have much planned I think my ladies and I are going to go to the Melting Pot. This weekend my Mom has Layla so I'm going to get my hair did and have Ben take me to dinner. It's all about food right now :)

Happy Friday!

Pumpkin Patch & Corn Maze

Trying to get back in to the swing of blogging. I have been such a slacker!

Linking up with:

This weekend we took Layla up to GreenBluff to our favorite Pumpkin Patch Knapp's. We go every year but since we had gone to the Corn Maze last weekend we were going to skip it. I'm glad we changed our minds!
1) Layla in the wheelbarrow
2) Layla sitting on a pumpkin. It was chilly up there!
3) Standing in the tractor wheel! I have a picture of her in this same wheel from last year, I need to compare the two.
4) In the horse buggy
5) Layla with her pumpkin and a tiny one we picked for her Little Brother
6) Our family of pumpkins

Last weekend, we went to the Incredible Corn Maze! My co worker and I had won some tickets from a local radio show and we decide to take our families together! We got legit lost... But it was ton of fun!
1) Kayla and Layla. I love this picture, I can picture them in their teens with their little coffees. They are 6 weeks apart... Yeah Layla is short like her Momma!
2) Lou hiding out!
3) How many kids can we fit on one stroller?! Layla, Maddie, Kayla and Mica
4) Corn... for days.
5) Ben and Lou
6) Little legs get tired easily!
