Happy Halloween!

The weekend is so close! I just have to make it thru 7 more hours of work! Layla’s first day of preschool/daycare went great! She didn’t cry at all when Ben left her, and she had a lot of fun! Second day went great too! They told me she’s doing great! Today Ben dropped her off and it was melt down city! Poor baby! Her teacher works 4 10’s so today she is not there maybe that’s it? I don’t know but I’m only a few blocks from her and it’s hard not to just go get her. I know I can’t, and I’m sure she’s fine now.

We have a very busy weekend ahead of us… Tonight a Fall Party at Layla’s school & my brother’s girlfriend Audrey’s birthday party! Tomorrow errands with my Mom and Ben and I need to find a wedding present! Tomorrow night we have Ben’s best friend’s wedding and Sunday is Halloween!!!

Have a safe and fun weekend!!!

Weekend Recap & Meal Plan

Friday: We toured another daycare/preschool at lunch. This one felt good. Ben and I carpooled… I really don’t know why. I wasn’t a good idea, I get off work a ½ an hour earlier then him and coming from dropping Layla off at Aprill’s my exit is after his… But he kept the car. So I got off work at 4 and waited. When he got here we headed to get Layla and finally made it home at 6:00. I had a Partylite party to be at, at 6:30 so I rushed back out of the house. The party was good, wine, food, friends and a few fall candles. After I ran to Target to wonder by myself. I found a cute clearance box:

Saturday: I woke up late for my hair appt. Then spent 4 hours getting my hair done, agh the price for nice hair. When I got home Ben and I finished cleaning out the garage and I can officially park my car in there! It’s amazing! Ben went on a dump run and my Mom stopped by. When Layla got up from her nap we went to Goodwill and bought Ben a snow blower! Went home made English muffin pizzas and put the kiddo to bed. Ben went to a friend’s house and I caught up on some TV and laid in bed. It was nice!

Sunday: We decided on the preschool that we had seen on Friday! YES! So we took Layla to get a bang trim for “school” and to Target to get a few supplies. She is beyond excited to go to school and make new friends! She kept saying “I make new friends Momma!” “Layla’s a big girl, go to school!” It’s too cute. After that the day was spent doing laundry, cleaning, watching the Seahawks sloppily win and barbequing chicken in the wind

Layla starts school on Wednesday, but until then my Mom’s BFF Stacy & my #2 Mom is staying with us to watch her during the days. I hope Ms. Layla Louise doesn’t walk all over her! Friday Layla’s new school is having a Fall Party that I hope to go so we can meet a few of the parents. Ben has his best friend’s wedding rehearsal at 4:30pm so it will just be Layla at I. After that is will be a quick trip to take Layla to my Mom’s and then back into town for my brother’s girlfriend’s birthday party. We have the wedding on Saturday and then taking Layla a few places to trick or treat on Sunday. Probably down to our old neighborhood.

Menu Plans for this week:

Monday: I have no idea… I’m actually thinking of picking up a pizza.

Tuesday: Something quick, were taking Layla to see her new school.

Wednesday: Spaghetti & garlic bread

Thursday: Sweet & Sour Chicken & Rice

Friday: Busy & Out

Saturday: Wedding

Sunday: Whatever

Happy Friday Loves!

It’s almost the weekend! I cannot wait! I need a weekend! We don’t have a ton planned for this one. One major project is cleaning out the garage! I will park in there this winter! I refuse to scrape ice and snow off my windows every morning. I also need a stop at Home Depot to start looking for a pretty buttery yellow for the playroom. Any suggestions?

Have a fantastic weekend!

Random:

1) We still haven’t found a daycare. We have it narrowed down but nothing is official. I hate this feeling, I wish we already had a new place and she was happy and comfortable there. Anyone have any ideas on how to make it easier for Layla?

2) Yesterday I had to sign paperwork at work to once again make me a full time employee. After I had Layla I only came back 3 days a week, then we got really busy so I started coming in 4 days a week, then my co worker went on maternity leave and I had to come back 5 days a week. Now with all the changes with daycare we can’t afford me to go back to 4 days a week. I know I have been working 5 days a week since like March or something but it really hit me last night that I won’t have my Friday’s off with my Girl anymore. It’s put me in a crazy funk and I’m not happy about it.

3) Happy note, I am getting my hair done on Saturday! I cannot wait! Thinking about going darker for the fall like everyone else in the world. :) Plus I really need a trim.

4) I must find a Halloween costume this weekend! Here are some ideas I’ve been throwing around.

5) I finally bought a entryway table. I’ve been looking for one since we moved in, my entryway isn’t very big. Our house is a split level so you walk in and have stairs up and down. So I finally pull the trigger and order this guy: and he’s back ordered… Until the end of November.

6) And I’m going to end this on #6 cause 6 is my favorite number! I am so happy it’s almost the weekend! 2 weeks from Saturday is my birthday!

Menu Plan Tuesday!

Monday: My friend Jen came over, Layla is madly in love with her! They are BFF’s! We had shake n’ bake pork chops, mashed potatoes and green beans. Oh and some left over pinto beans from Sunday.

Tuesday: Pulled pork sandwiches, Cole slaw and chips. I just realized were having pork two nights in a row… I normally don’t ever do that. Oh well it’s already in the crock pot.

Wednesday: Beef Stroganoff

Thursday: Dad’s cooking English Muffin Pizza’s. Yum!

Friday: Out

Saturday: I don’t have a clue!

Sunday: I’m thinking of trying Chicken Cacciatore in the crock pot, from this recipe from Kraft Foods.

It’s getting cold here this week so I filled this week with a lot of comfort foods.

Weekend Round Up & Pictures!

Friday: Layla’s allergy testing went great! She is not allergic to any airborne asthma triggers. Great! I had a feeling it was just cold and sickness related but it’s always nice to rule something out. After that we went out to Mexican food which turned into a screaming toddler and leaving quickly.

Saturday: My brother Eddie and his girlfriend Audrey spent the night Friday night to be at our house bright and early to go to the pumpkin patch with us. My mom showed up at 10 and we headed out the door. By this time Layla had been in about 5 times outs and just being a little bear! She turned around at the pumpkin patch and we had a great time! I need to upload the pictures; there are some cute ones of her standing in a tractor wheel! When we got back home my mom graciously offer to take Layla home with her! After everyone left Ben mowed the front lawn and most of the back and I cleaned house and moved Layla’s room around. Around 5:30pm we met up with our friends Becca and Toby and went to the MS Society Octobrewfest. We have a great time drinking microbrews’ for a good cause!

Sunday: I had been having my own asthma problems all weekend and Saturday night it got the worse! Sunday morning we took me to urgent care for a round of steroids and a few nebulizer treatments. After that I was feeling much better! We went grocery shopping, headed home started laundry, cleaned out my car, cleaned our bedroom and moved a rug around, then headed out to my Mom’s to get Layla! She was a much happier kid, I think she needed a break from us. Once we got home we craved pumpkins and had dinner then put Layla to bed a little earlier since she didn’t have a nap that day.

This week should be pretty uneventful, and I can’t wait! I have a Partylite party to go to Friday night for a little girl time and I am thinking I will get my hair done Saturday. We need to do a little shopping for a wedding present and I need to find a Halloween costume for said wedding… And...

Here's some picutres of Layla with her Princess Pumpkin and helping us with our pumpkins!

The Last Two Weeks...

Have been hell. Last Monday Ben got a call from daycare that Layla’s asthma was pretty bad and someone needed to come pick her up. Ben was nice enough to leave work and I called and made a doctor’s appt. Once Ben picked her up he realized how bad it really was and they headed to the ER. I quickly wrapped up my desk and headed down to meet them. After the usual a round of steroids and 4 hours we were sent home. Ben stayed home with her again on Tuesday. Wednesday we were getting excited for our trip to Seattle and to see the fishes! Layla was doing much better! Then Thursday hit…. I got a call at work that Layla’s daycare’s license had been suspended and I had to leave work right away to go pick her up. The licensing lady could not tell me anything, other then some allegations had been made against the daycare and they were being shut down for the time being. Sigh… When I arrived at her daycare Layla was the last child there and her providers were upset, there were two ladies there from licensing taking copies of everything. The providers told me their side of what they thought the whole thing was about. Layla and I went home and I started to get really stressed out! Layla has been in this daycare since she was 6 weeks old, they are a husband and wife who run it and they have turned into an extra set of grandparents! Where were we going to take her now? Friday we went on our trip like planned and had a fantastic time! (More about that later! I’ve got some great pictures!)

Monday we had the day off (Yay for working in banking!) and I got a call from basically a social worker, Layla had been named in the investigation as one of the children that had been abused at daycare. WHAT?! The daycare provider’s story had nothing to do with what the investigation was all about. The social worker wanted to come out and talk with Layla. Agh, we finally met with her on Wednesday and got a little more insight into the whole mess. Apparently the allegations say that Layla was pushed by the provider and there was an incident of the providers arguing about who was going to give her, her nebulizer treatment and then Layla never getting it. I honestly do not believe they pushed her, but now that all this is in my head I can’t send her back there. So this week has been full of interviewing new daycares’ on lunches and after work. The more we look the more we realized that Layla should really be in a center type care, with a preschool. She is just too smart to just be watched at someone’s house all day. (Haha yes, I think she is a genius) But a center is going to raise our monthly daycare bill up over $200.00 more then we currently pay a month. This is going to hurt, but be so worth it in the end. Luckily one of my closest friends Aprill is on maternity leave at the moment and even though she lives just about as far away from us as possible she has been watching Layla. Aprill and I were pregnant together; her oldest Makayla is just 6 weeks older then Layla. Yes, their names rhyme.

Today I am off at 12:30pm to take Layla to an allergy testing appointment. And even though I have missed so much work lately, I am excited have most of the afternoon off with my favorite person!

Here’s a picture of my Love right before the aquarium to brighten this post up a bit!

Ssshhh It’s a Secret & Weekend Round Up…

I interviewed for a new job this morning. Same company just a different position and in a different place. I am always on the look for something, something different something to challenge me something to grow into. I’ve been on more interviews then I can count its good practice. I should know something late next week. I’m on the fence as to if I will accept it, if I’m offered it. We shall see!

Anyways here’s my weekend round up:

Friday: Worked, agh then took Layla to my Moms. She was so happy to see Nana and Poppa! Then we headed back into town and had plans to clean house and move a dresser into Layla’s room but one of Ben’s co workers called us and we decided to go meet him for drinks.

Saturday: We woke up late; this started a trend for the day. Went into town and priced some tires for my car. ($560.00 EKK!) Then I dropped Ben off to get his hair cut and I went to Target for a birthday present for my awesome friend Aprill. (Not a typo her named is spelled with two L’s) Then we rushed home and got ready for the road trip to the concert. We got to Aprill and her husband Josh’s hotel around 3pm hung out for a bit then headed to the show! At the Gorge we tailgated for a bit then went to see a fantastic show! Here are a few pictures from the night, the sun was setting and all I had was my phone. After the show we had a very long 2 hour drive home.

Sunday: We had to be at my Moms at 8:00am to get Layla, once we got home it was a lazy day. Playing, naps, grocery shopping and to bed early.

Yesterday Layla had another bout with her asthma that landed us in the ER again. She is at home with Daddy today and doing much better! Hopping she is 100% by Friday because we are headed to Seattle for her 1st big road trip. We’re going to go to the Seattle Aquarium (she is crazy about fish!) and hopefully the Zoo, if the weather is nice. There will also be a trip to IKEA squeezed in there for me!
